Eco-Schools is a global programme engaging over 20 million children across more than 100 countries, making it the largest environmental education programme on the planet. The programme was developed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) in 1994 and run in Wales by Keep Wales Tidy.
It is designed to empower and inspire young people to make positive environmental changes to their school and wider community, while building on their skills, including numeracy and literacy, and encompassing Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship.
Several gardening projects have been carried out in the School under the leadership of Porthmadog's Incredible Edible Group.
The officers of the committee go round all the classes to make sure that everyone recycles correctly.
New pins were obtained to help with the work.
The crew is also busy recylcing food in the special compost bin that the School has.
The Eco Committee is responsible for the Food Shop. We are very grateful to Aldi Porthmadog for giving us the food to host the Shop.
The Shop is open every Wednesday.
The Eco Committee is also responsible for the school clothes exchange shop. The shop is open to everyone.
We have also had a Christmas jumper swap!
